Meet Joseph Kamau

Joseph Kamau lives in the Uthiru Kabete village on the outskirts of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya. He attends the Christ Children’s Episcopal Church, where he serves on the Church Council. Joseph is a member of the Kikuyu people group and speaks English and Swahili in addition to his native tongue. Hobbies include watching wildlife movies and soccer, but his passion is preaching and teaching the Word of God.

Joseph believes God has called him to be a Field Worker because Evangelism Explosion has proven itself to be the most appropriate method of evangelism and he wholeheartedly believes in the principle of EE. In addition to training pastors and lay leaders in EE leadership clinics, Joseph desires to encourage and assist those he trains to implement the EE ministry in their local churches. The strategy Joseph is using to accomplish this goal is to hold promotional meetings with local pastors to cast the vision of how EE can equip their laity and evangelize the lost. He also believes that periodic visits to churches that have implemented the ministry will encourage them to remain steadfast and become roll models for other churches.

The greatest challenges Joseph faces in trying to establish EE throughout Nairobi and Central Kenya is a lack of interest in training among many of the urban churches and a lack of resources among the rural churches to purchase the training material.

Your sponsorship of Joseph will enable him to fulfill his vision of implementing vibrant, effective EE ministries within the local churches of Nairobi. It will provide a living allowance to him and his family and will also provide the necessary travel and ministry related needs.
